Founding Partner – Head of Claims & Dispute Resolution
Hugo Fonseca is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years of experience in both contractors and consultants, during which he has led teams and successfully delivered multi-disciplinary projects, focusing on preventing disputes and resolving construction issues before they impact the project.
Having held roles as independent mediator, conciliator, and providing expert determination, he acts regularly as an independent expert supporting claim preparation and defence, as well as presenting testimony as an independent expert witness where his in-depth technical knowledge of construction, the parties’ contractual obligations and risks, as well as hands-on experience using different methodologies to evaluate delay and disruption, and quantification of damages is highly valued.
He is frequently invited to deliver training on contract administration and on the technical aspects of claim preparation.
